ÜBER DIE KÜNSTLERIN
Die Künstlerin Nirma Siesenop, geboren in Sri Lanka, lebt und arbeitet in Deutschland. Ihre Arbeit ist stark von ihrer Herkunft und persönlichen Erfahrungen geprägt. Einerseits geht es um die kulturellen Unterschiede zwischen ihrem Land Sri Lanka und der westlichen Kultur. In diesem persönlichen Konflikt entsteht ihre Arbeit.
Auf der anderen Seite geht es in ihrer Kunst um die Natur der Dinge und ihre gegenwärtigen Erfahrungen. Seit einigen Jahren beschäftigt sich die Künstlerin mit dem konfliktreichen Verhältnis zwischen Mensch und Natur. In ihren abstrakten Landschaftsbildern thematisiert sie sowohl die Umweltzerstörung als auch die Schönheit der Natur. Für Nirma Siesenop haben Künstler heute die Aufgabe, auf die Zerstörung der Natur hinzuweisen. Gerade weil die Natur in der Vergangenheit immer eine Inspirationsquelle für die Kunst war.
Ihre Erfahrungen aus der Vergangenheit und der Gegenwart verarbeitet und übersetzt sie mit verschiedenen künstlerischen und stilistischen Mitteln und Techniken. Nirma Siesenop arbeitet im Spannungsfeld von figurativer und abstrakter Kunst.
Nirma Siesenops Arbeiten wurden auf Ausstellungen und in Galerien in Köln, Bonn, Berlin, Eupen (Belgien) und Miami (USA) gezeigt.

The artist Nirma Siesenop, born in Sri Lanka, lives and works in Germany. Her work is strongly influenced by her origin and personal experiences. On the one hand, it is about the cultural differences between her country Sri Lanka and the western culture. In this personal conflict her work arises.
On the other hand her art is about the nature of things and her present experiences. For several years, the artist has been dealing with the conflict-ridden relationship between man and nature. She addresses both the environmental destruction and the beauty of nature in her abstract landscape paintings. For Nirma Siesenop, artists today have the task of pointing out the destruction of nature. Precisely because nature has always been a source of inspiration for art in the past.
Her experiences of the past and the presence are processed and translated with various artistic and stylistic devices and techniques. Nirma Siesenop works in the conflicting area of figurative and abstract art.
Nirma Siesenop’s artwork has been shown at exhibitions and in galleries in Cologne, Bonn, Berlin, Eupen (Belgium) and Miami (USA).
